Workshop “Yuri Landman – Malevich String Plates” 4-6 Aprile 2024

In this workshop Yuri Landman guides a group of participants (20 max) in their process to create a unique instrument of their own design. Based on the famous geometric abstract paintings by Malevich, Landman found a way to enhance the sounds of strings by crossing them. The sounds of these clustered strings can be compared to Chinese gongs, Gamelan bells and spooky metallic sounds often occurring in scary movies. Each duo of two participants makes their own sets of crossed strings, resulting in an electroacoustic abstract sound plate sculpture.
