Giorgio Carlin, born in Turin in 1946, son of a musician from the RAI Symphony Orchestra, after completing technical studies, worked for a couple of years in the acoustics department of the Galileo Ferraris Research Institute in his city. From 1970 to 2006 he worked as a sound engineer at the RAI in Turin. Graduated in History and Criticism of the Cinema with Prof. Aristarco with a thesis on the history and cultural politics of RAI. He has spent the last twenty years of service as a sound reporter for the RAI National Orchestra both in the various venues and externally. Among the most demanding works, a Prix Italia won with Luciano Berio, the participation in various editions of the Venice Music Biennale, the filming of Le nozze di Figaro at the Teatro Comunale in Florence published by TDK on DVD, the “New Year’s Concert 2004 ”, worldwide, from the Teatro La Fenice in Venice. In 2005, on behalf of RAI, he participated in the creation of Strauss’s Elektra at La Scala / Arcimboldi, later published on DVD by TDK.
